Here are a few images from my brand-new children's book, A Portrait in Poems: The Storied Life of Gertrude Stein & Alice B. Toklas (KIDS CAN Press, 2019). The book will be available in March 2020. I could not be more pleased with Rachel Katstaller's illustrations. I'm also so very grateful to editor Kathleen Keenan--as well as the other Kids Can Staff members--and to my ever-dedicated agent Abi Samoun. A Portrait in Poems could not have happened without you.

A Portrait in Poems was inspired by my trips to Paris, as well as the video Paris Was a Woman And, of course, by the women (many of them American) who chose to move to the City of Light at the beginning of the 20^th century.

This one's called tonight the poem, and it will be available March 2020.
